From first call to final walkthrough, exactly how it goes.
No mystery process, no vanishing crews. Seven steps, each one written down before it happens.

Quick answer
Working with Bighorn Painting follows seven steps: you call 720-912-4676, we scope the project by photos or walkthrough, you receive a written estimate naming surfaces, preparation, products, sheens and coats, colors and any HOA approvals get settled, the property is protected and prepared, coatings are applied in the right conditions, and you inspect the finished work before it is called done. Every project carries a 5-year workmanship warranty.
The whole process, start to finish
You call or send the form
Tell us what needs painting, where the property is and roughly when you want it done.
We scope it
Photos are often enough for interiors, cabinets and straightforward exteriors. Peeling, water damage, acreage access or commercial work gets a walkthrough first.
You get it in writing
Surfaces, preparation steps, product lines and sheens, coat counts, protection, schedule, payment terms, insurance and warranty, with the discount applied.
Colors and approvals
Samples tested on your own surfaces, and any HOA submission handled early so paperwork never delays the crew.
Protection and preparation
Covering, washing, scraping, sanding, filling, caulking and priming. This is the stage that decides whether the finish lasts.
Coatings applied
Within the manufacturer's temperature and weather window, sequencing elevations around Arvada wind and sun, with daily cleanup.
Walkthrough and warranty
You walk it, we fix what you flag, then the workmanship is covered for five years in writing.
How to photograph a project so the quote is accurate
Good photos save a visit and get you a real number faster. Six shots usually do it.
- One wide shot per elevation or room, far enough back to show the whole surface.
- Close-ups of anything failing: peeling, cracking, bare wood, stains or soft spots.
- The trim and sills, which fail before anything else outdoors.
- The deck surface and railings if staining is part of the job.
- Cabinet runs plus a close-up of a door edge.
- Anything unusual: tall stairwells, vaulted ceilings, outbuildings, tricky access.
Also helpful to mention
- Year built. Pre-1978 changes the work method.
- HOA rules, including any approved palette.
- Paint history. When it was last done and by whom, if you know.
- Moisture clues. Sprinklers hitting the house, gutter overflow, roof issues.
- Timeline. Listing date, move-in, tenant turnover, event you are working around.
- Access. Gates, dogs, alarm codes, parking and whether anyone is home during the day.

Process questions
How do I get a painting quote in Arvada?
Call 720-912-4676 or send the form on any page with photos. Quotes are free, written and carry no obligation anywhere we work.
How fast do you respond?
Most calls and forms get a response the same day or the next, and most written estimates follow within a day or two of scoping.
Do I need to be home for the quote?
Not for photo quotes. For a walkthrough it helps if someone can point out problem areas and talk through colors and scheduling, though we can work with an agent, manager or lockbox.
What is in the written estimate?
Surfaces included and excluded, preparation steps, product line and sheen per surface, coat counts, protection and cleanup, schedule, payment terms, insurance and the 5-year warranty.
When do I pay?
Payment terms are written into the quote. Final payment comes after you walk the work and we close out anything you flag.
What if something changes mid-project?
Tell us. Changes get priced in writing before the work happens, never discovered on the invoice.
