How to photograph a project so the number is accurate
Six shots usually do it, and good photos can save you an appointment entirely.
Wide shots
One per elevation or room, taken far enough back to show the whole surface.
Close-ups of failures
Peeling, cracking, bare wood, stains or anything that looks soft.
Trim and sills
They fail before anything else outdoors, and they tell us a lot about the prep required.
The deck and fence
If staining is part of the job, include the walking surface and the railings.
Cabinet runs
The full kitchen plus a close-up of one door edge.
Anything unusual
Tall stairwells, vaulted ceilings, steep lots, tricky access or outbuildings.

Estimate questions
Are estimates really free?
Yes, always, whether we price it from your photos or come to the property. There is no obligation and no pressure.
What is a virtual estimate?
You send photos of each elevation or room plus a few details, and we return a written estimate without scheduling a visit. It is the fastest way to get a real number.
When do you need to come out in person?
When there is peeling, water damage, failing caulk, unusual access or a commercial scope. In those cases photos can hide the thing that changes the price.
How long does an in-person estimate take?
Usually 30 to 45 minutes for a house, depending on size and how many questions you have. We walk it with you so you can point out what is bothering you.
What will I receive?
A written estimate listing surfaces, preparation steps, product line and sheen per surface, coat counts, schedule, payment terms, insurance and the 5-year workmanship warranty.
Do I have to decide on the spot?
No. The estimate is yours to think about, compare and ask questions about. We would rather you be sure.
